“Take advantage of every opportunity to practice your communication skills so that when important occasions arise, you will have the gift, the style, the sharpness, the clarity, and the emotions to affect other people.”
– Attributed to Jim Rohn
When I saw what today’s theme was for the gratitude challenge, I have to admit that I balked a little; a talent or skill that you have is not something that I think I would ordinarily write about, though I suppose that is part of the point of this, is to help you (me) see the things that you (I) do actually have.
I think that skill or talent that I am most grateful for is my ability to see the potential in something. I can walk into a room and often visualise the ways in which is could be arranged, whether it be a room at home or a classroom.
When Mrs C21stT and I moved into our current home, I was able to visualise how it would look with various works done to the backyard, and different arrangements of our furniture inside, which helped us with the unpacking process. When I moved into my current classroom, where I will be for at least the rest of term three, I could visualise how it would look if I had it set up in a number of different ways, which made it relatively easy for me to restructure the room according to what I needed and make the best use of space.
